2025 Boys Without Borders Chidera Anushiem Undergraduate Essay Competition

Boys Without Borders, Nigeria (BWBNG) is excited to announce the second edition of the Chidera Anushiem Essay Competition, inviting submissions from eligible participants. This annual event is held in honor of the International Day of the Boy-Child, reflecting the organization’s commitment to empowering boys and addressing issues affecting their development.

The competition focuses on the theme, “Challenging Harmful Stereotypes: Becoming Allies in the Fight for Equality,” encouraging participants to explore ways to promote equality and break societal barriers.

Prizes and Benefits

1st Place: ₦70,000
2nd Place: ₦50,000
3rd Place: ₦30,000
Top 10 Participants: Mentorship opportunities and additional rewards.

Eligibility and Requirements

Open to male undergraduate students enrolled in Nigerian universities.
A valid photo ID (or an alternative document showing name, photo, and school name) must accompany the essay submission.
Essays should be between 800 and 1,000 words.
The document must not include the entrant’s name or school; this information will be collected via the submission form.
Each essay must have a title and word count.
Plagiarism will result in disqualification.

Selection Process

The top 10 essays will be shortlisted, and participants will be invited to a conference.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top 3 entries.
The top 5 participants will receive consolation prizes.
