The FAO Internship Program for Africa aims to engage motivated young individuals who are eager to contribute fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and academic expertise to FAO’s mission. This program offers a unique opportunity for participants to gain practical experience in areas aligned with FAO’s work, complementing their academic knowledge and contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and FAO’s Strategic Framework. Through this initiative, interns will support the transformation towards more efficient, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable agri-food systems, fostering better production, nutrition, environment, and livelihoods while ensuring no one is left behind.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited institution or be recent graduates. Degrees must be from institutions recognized in the World Higher Education Database (WHED), maintained by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/UNESCO.
- Specialization in a field relevant to FAO’s mission and work is required.
- Proficiency in at least one FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish). Knowledge of a second language is an advantage.
- Applicants must be nationals of FAO member countries.
- Candidates should be between 21 and 30 years old.
- Strong adaptability to multicultural environments and excellent communication skills are essential.
