2025 Ibadan Descendants’ Union (IDU) Scholarship for Nigerian Students 

The Ibadan Descendants’ Union (IDU) is pleased to announce an exceptional opportunity for students of Ibadan origin to further their education. Sponsored by the Ibadan Descendants’ Union of Greater Washington DC, USA, this scholarship is designed to assist financially challenged students from Ibadan who are pursuing undergraduate studies in Nigerian higher institutions.

Benefits of the IDU Scholarship 

• Complete coverage of tuition fees for selected candidates.
• Payments will be made directly to the recipient’s educational institution.

Eligibility Criteria 

• Applicants must be of Ibadan origin.
• Applicants must demonstrate strong academic performance and good moral character.
• Proof of financial need is required.
• Candidates must be enrolled or accepted as full-time students in a Nigerian university or college.

Selection Process 

• Applications will be accepted from midnight on March 15, 2025, to 11:59 PM on March 31, 2025 (Nigerian Time).
• Submissions outside this timeframe will not be considered.
• Only complete applications with all required documents will be reviewed.
• The IDU Scholarship selection committee will make final decisions, and successful applicants will be notified directly.

Required Application Documents 

• A recent passport-sized photograph.
• Official academic transcript for the most recent academic year, showing a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.65 on a 4.0 scale or 4.65 on a 5.0 scale.
• Proof of financial need.
• A short essay explaining why you deserve the scholarship, your field of study, and how it will contribute to society.
• A recommendation letter from your department head or faculty dean.

Application Deadline 

All applications must be submitted by March 31, 2025.
