2025 MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (MTN STS) for Nigerian Undergraduate Students

The MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (MTN STS), established in 2010, supports 300-level students pursuing Science and Technology-related courses in Nigerian public tertiary institutions, including universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. Each year, 300 students are awarded scholarships worth ₦300,000, renewable until graduation, provided they maintain the required academic standards.

Annual scholarship amount increased from ₦200,000 to ₦300,000.

Eligibility Requirements

Institution of Study

Open to students enrolled in Nigerian public tertiary institutions (universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education).
Starting in 2024, the MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS) will increase its beneficiaries from 60 to 100 students annually.

Course of Study

MTN STS: Open to 300-level students studying Science and Technology-related courses.
MTN SBS: Open to 200 and 300-level blind students studying any course. For Law students (a 5-year program), only 300-level students are eligible.

Level of Study

MTN STS: Applicants must have completed their second semester 200 level examinations or be currently in 300 level.
MTN SBS: Open to 200 and 300level blind students in any public tertiary institution.

Academic Performance

MTN STS:

University and College of Education students: Minimum CGPA of 3.0/4.0 or 3.5/5.0 (Second Class Upper).
Polytechnic students: Minimum CGPA of 3.0 (Upper Credit) in OND and admission into HND.
Direct Entry students: Minimum CGPA of 3.0 (Upper Credit) in OND and admission into 300 level at a university.
