The Wilson and Yinka Badejo Foundation offers an annual Educational Assistance Program to support talented but financially disadvantaged students in achieving their higher education goals. Since its establishment in 2008, the foundation has awarded over 500 scholarships to students from underprivileged backgrounds. This initiative is aimed at academically outstanding students who are either currently enrolled or planning to attend public tertiary institutions in Nigeria. Applicants must meet all specified eligibility criteria to be considered by the scholarship board.
Benefits of the Wilson and Yinka Badejo Foundation Legacy ScholarshipÂ
Selected candidates will receive a one-time cash award of ₦70,000 to assist with educational expenses at Nigerian universities, colleges, or polytechnics.
Eligibility Requirements for the Legacy ScholarshipÂ
- Financial Need: Applicants must demonstrate financial hardship by submitting a brief personal statement about their background.
- Academic and Personal Excellence: Candidates must have a strong academic record and exhibit good character, which can be verified.
- Enrollment Status: Applicants must be enrolled or admitted to an accredited public tertiary institution (private institutions are not eligible).
- Previous Beneficiaries: Individuals who have received two or more scholarships from the foundation in the past are ineligible to apply.
- Multiple Applications: Applicants may apply for both the Legacy and Nurturing Hearts scholarships but can only receive one award if selected.
Additional Details for the Legacy ScholarshipÂ
Applicants must be Nigerian residents studying (or admitted to study) at a public tertiary institution, including the West African Theological Seminary and Life Theological Seminary, Ikorodu.
- All eligibility criteria must be met at the time of application.
- A complete online application form must be submitted.
- A JAMB admission letter is required for newly admitted students. Current students must have a minimum GPA of 3.5.
- Shortlisted candidates must provide a recommendation letter from a cleric, Head of Department, Course Adviser, or Dean of Students. An interview may be required at the board’s discretion.
- There is no age restriction for applicants.

Selection Process and TimelineÂ
March 15th: Application portal opens.
April 30th: Application deadline.
May 1st, June 13th: Application screening and awardee selection.
June 16th, July 11th: Notification of shortlisted candidates and second round interviews (only selected candidates will be contacted).
July 21st: Final list of awardees submitted to the Board of Trustees.
August: Scholarships awarded during the Annual Memorial Lecture.

Wilson and Yinka Badejo Foundation Nurturing Hearts ScholarshipÂ
This new scholarship category, launched in honor of cofounder Rev. Mrs. Adeyinka Badejo, supports young women aged 18–28 with a passion for children’s ministry. The scholarship is renewable once.

Eligibility Requirements for the Nurturing Hearts ScholarshipÂ
- Residency and Eligibility: Applicants must be Nigerian residents and meet basic eligibility criteria (waived where applicable).
- Age and Gender: Applicants must be female and between 18–28 years old (proof of age required).
- Field of Study: Candidates must pursue a degree, vocational training, or professional development related to children’s ministry.
- Essay Submission: A 500–750 word essay detailing the applicant’s passion for children’s ministry, prior experience, and future impact plans is required.
- Recommendation Letter: A letter from a cleric, mentor, professor, or counselor attesting to the applicant’s character and commitment to children’s ministry is mandatory.
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates must be available for an interview with the scholarship board.
