The Afrika Kommt Fellowship is a transformative one year program designed to empower young African professionals by equipping them with leadership skills, global exposure, and innovative thinking. Structured into three phases, the fellowship aims to cultivate the next generation of African leaders.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the 2025 Afrika Kommt Fellowship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a citizen of an African country.
- Hold a university degree in a relevant field (postgraduate qualifications like an MBA are advantageous).
- Have 2 to 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrate excellent English language proficiency (basic German language skills are a plus).
- Be no older than 35 years at the time of application.

Fellowship Benefits
Selected participants will receive:
- A one-year visa for Germany.
- Roundtrip airfare from their home country to Germany and back.
- A monthly living allowance of €900 (for months 13 and month 12).
- A monthly salary of approximately €1,500 gross during the internship phase.
- A one-time relocation allowance of €1,000 for reintegration into their home country.
- Fully covered accommodation in Germany, including utilities and internet.
- Health insurance (for months 13 and month 12) and accident/liability insurance.
- Two certificates upon completion:
i. An official program completion certificate detailing the training components.
ii. A certificate from the Academy for International Cooperation of GIZ GmbH for completing the “International Competence Development Journal” training.
How to Apply for the 2025 Afrika Kommt Fellowship
Interested candidates should follow these steps:
- Step 1: Review the eligibility criteria to ensure you meet the requirements.
- Step 2: Explore the available fellowship placements and required profiles during the application period. Select up to two profiles and provide reasons for your choices.
- Step 3: Register and complete the application form in English (applications in other languages will not be accepted).

- A recent photograph.
- Academic and professional certificates.
Step 4: Submit your application before the deadline. Late submissions will not be considered.
