DiginThe UNICORE 7.0 project, part of the University Corridors for Refugees initiative, offers refugee students the opportunity to pursue a Master’s degree at Italian universities. This program is supported by UNHCR, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Caritas Italiana, Diaconia Valdese, Centro Astalli, and other partners. It aims to provide higher education opportunities for refugees residing in countries such as Kenya, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
Selected students will begin their degree programs in September 2025. They will benefit from waived tuition fees, financial support for travel and visa expenses, and a study grant to assist with living costs in Italy.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the UNHCR Masters Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be recognized refugees residing in Ethiopia, India, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, or Zimbabwe.
- Hold a qualification eligible for admission to the chosen Master’s program.
- Have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or equivalent, as per the Italian Ministry of Education’s grading system.
- Have obtained their degree in or after 2020, and no later than the application deadline (some universities may not enforce this time limit; refer to individual program requirements).
- Meet the specific admission criteria for the selected Master’s program.
- Not have previously enrolled in a degree program at any of the partner universities.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the English language.

Required Documents
Applicants must submit the following:
- Refugee ID card or proof of refugee registration.
- Certificate of qualification for the chosen Master’s program.
- Academic transcripts with grades.
- GPA documentation.
- Curriculum vitae (CV).
- Motivation letter.
- Any additional documents required by the specific Master’s program.
