The ODI Fellowship Scheme, launched in 1963, offers early career economists and statisticians the opportunity to work in public sector roles within low and middle income countries. This two-year program places fellows in various government institutions, where they serve as local civil servants under the supervision of local managers.

Fellows are assigned to a wide range of institutions, including ministries of finance, planning, health, and education, as well as central banks, statistics offices, and regulatory bodies.
BenefitsÂ
Participants receive a competitive compensation package, which includes a net annual salary of approximately £32,600 in the first year and £34,600 in the second year. This amount is tax-free and includes a housing allowance adjusted to reflect the cost of living in the host country.
