Position Title: Director, Logistics and Transportation

Location: Sokoto

Reports to: Managing Director, BUA Cement

Internal Customers : Heads of Department

We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Director of Logistics and Transport to lead our logistics and transportation operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the end-to end transportation processes, ensuring that goods and services are delivered efficiently, on time, and within budget. This role requires a strong strategic leader with experience in logistics planning, transportation management, team leadership, and optimizing supply chain performance.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement logistics and transportation strategies to align with organizational goals and growth objectives.
  • Lead and manage a team of logistics, transportation, and supply chain professionals to ensure high performance and operational excellence.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors, clients, and internal departments.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to continually improve logistics processes.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of logistics and transport functions, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of products and services.
  • Manage transportation networks, including fleet management, third-party providers, and distribution channels.
  • Ensure all logistics operations comply with safety, regulatory, and legal requirements.
  • Monitor expenses, ensure efficient use of resources, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to optimize operations and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including procurement, inventory, and warehousing, to streamline operations and ensure seamless supply chain processes

Leverage data analytics to forecast demand, plan routes, and manage capacity effectively.

Qualification/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an additional advantage, membership of a professional body and other certifications.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in logistics and transportation management, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership or director role.

Job Overview

The Automation Engineer is responsible for the design, programming, troubleshooting, and optimization of the automation and control systems used in cement plant operations

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and configure automation systems for cement plant processes, including raw material preparation, kiln operations, grinding, and packing.
  • Optimize automation systems for improved production efficiency, energy savings, and reduced downtime.

  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in human capital development, talent management, or related disciplines.
  • Proven leadership experience in designing and implementing development and succession programs.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate organizational goals into talent strategies.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
