 About the WASCAL Scholarship
The WASCAL Scholarship is now open for applications for its Master’s Programs in Energy and Green Hydrogen (IMPEGH) for the 2025/2026 academic year. This initiative targets students from 15 ECOWAS countries, aiming to empower the next generation of climate leaders in West Africa.
The International Master’s Program in Energy and Green Hydrogen (IMPEGH) is a groundbreaking initiative designed to equip students with the skills to tackle energy challenges and climate change adaptation in the region. Supported by the German Government, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), and leading German universities, this Program offers exceptional opportunities for qualified students.
 Eligibility Criteria
- To qualify for the German Government WASCAL Scholarship 2025, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of one of the following West African countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Cote d’Ivoire, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, or Togo.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree (minimum second class upper division) in a relevant field.
- Demonstrate at least an intermediate level of English proficiency.
 Note: Students from other ECOWAS countries may apply as self-funded candidates, subject to availability.

- Proof of relevant professional experience (if applicable).
- A written commitment to pay a €30 registration fee if admitted.
