The Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation (SABMF), a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering unity, peace, and socio-economic development in Northern Nigeria, is pleased to announce its 2025 Scholarship Program. This initiative aims to support undergraduate and HND students from Northern Nigeria by providing financial assistance to help them pursue their academic goals.

Eligibility Criteria 

  • To qualify for the Sir Ahmadu Bello Foundation Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
  • Be an indigene of any of the 19 Northern states or the Federal Capital Territory (proof of state of origin is required).
  • Have secured admission into a full-time Degree or HND program in a public university or polytechnic for the 2023/2024 academic session.
  • Be enrolled in 100 level (via JAMB UTME) or 200 level (via Direct Entry) for Degree programs, or HND 1 for polytechnic students.
  • Possess a minimum of five (5) O’Level credits, including English and Mathematics, obtained in no more than two sittings.
  • Be no older than 25 years at the time of admission.
  • Be studying a science or technology-related course in a public institution.

Scholarship Benefits 

The scholarship award covers one academic session and is renewable based on academic performance. Renewal requires a minimum CGPA equivalent to a Second Class Lower Division for university students or an Upper Credit for polytechnic students.

Required Documents 

Applicants must submit the following documents:

  • Three (3) recent passport-sized photographs (2×2 inches).
  • Certificate of State of Origin/Indigenization.
  • Birth certificate issued by the National Population Commission (NPC).
  • JAMB result and admission letter from the institution.
  • Proof of fee payment and faculty/departmental registration.
  • Valid student ID card.
  • WAEC/NECO Senior Secondary School Certificate(s).
  • Semester result(s).
  • Personal contact details (including email address).
  • A reference letter from a community leader.
  • Completed parent/guardian attestation letter.
  • Active phone numbers and contact details of next of kin.

Application Process 

  • Interested and qualified candidates should send their applications, along with soft copies of all required documents, to sabmfscholars@gmail.com.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a screening exercise, where they must present original copies of the submitted documents.
  • Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for screening.
  • Successful applicants will have their names published in a national daily and on the Foundation’s website.

Important Notes 

  • Applicants who are already beneficiaries of other scholarship schemes are not eligible.
  • The application deadline is February 25, 2025.
