The History of FUD
The federal University Dutse (FUD), received its charter, along with eight other newly established Federal Universities, from the federal Government of Nigeria on February 9, 2011. The University’s campus is located in the capital of Jigawa state, Dutse, an ancient town in the north western Nigeria. The University’s host town, Dutse, offers the charm of a small agricultural town, with easy access to major metropolitan areas such as Kano, Bauchi, Maiduguri, and Kaduna. The university recognizes the importance of its location in Dutse and seeks to link its research and teaching to the vast resources of these great metropolitan areas in the surrounding states.
Why courses are approved and unapproved for Federal University Dutse
The courses offered in Federal University Dutse were approved by the Federal ministry of education, with structure and modality the school management board had put in place to promote quality learning.
Some courses are are yet to be introduced and offered in the Federal University Dutse which the structure and modality have not been made for their programs.

- Because of the poor grades obtained in the O’ level key subjects of the applied course.
- Because of the candidates poor cut-off marks.
- Because of the poor post utme score obtained by candidates.
- Because of the rate at which candidates scored above others in the post utme exams, the candidates with lesser score are usually screened to offer few sub-optional courses.
- Poor performance in school can also lead to a change of course (department).
